The Lord Fairfax EMS Council is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Regional EMS Field Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring regional programs, plans, agreements, and contracts in support of the regional EMS system. The Field Coordinator will develop and maintain effective liaison with EMS agencies, stakeholders, and emergency department personnel throughout the region to strengthen coordination and cooperation in pursuing mutual goals and activities. The Field Coordinator will also serve as an EMS Educator and teaching responsibilities may include all levels of courses and/or clinical supervision up to their current level of EMS certification. This full time position does require some evening and weekend work and attendance at various meetings within the region, and occasionally within the state. The successful candidate shall possess a combination of education and experience related to emergency medical services. An associate’s degree is preferred but not required. A minimum of Virginia EMT-Intermediate certification or higher (Paramedic preferred), in good standing with the VA Office of EMS, or the ability to obtain VA certification within the first 12 months is required along with VA EMS Educator certification, in good standing with the VA Office of EMS, or the ability to obtain within the first 12 months. Candidate must have 5 years of experience in the direct delivery of pre-hospital patient care with administrative, leadership, and/or teaching experience. The Lord Fairfax EMS Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides coordination, training, and support activities for the regional EMS system that includes all localities within planning district 7.
