EMS Planning and Emergency Management Coordinator 10/16/2019 The Peninsulas EMS Council, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled project planner and experienced local government, police/fire/EMS agency, public health, or healthcare emergency manager to oversee a variety of regional EMS planning activities and assist with the production of regional EMS plans and reports. Individual is responsible for the development of an annual comprehensive work plan and product management system to help meet regional council service contract deliverables. This individual also assists with the development, implementation, and coordination of regional EMS emergency management projects including the regional mass casualty incident management plans, EMS mass gathering plans, regional EMS surge and medical resiliency plans, and pandemic or highly infectious disease response plans. The Council’s EMS Planning and Emergency Management Coordinator is an important regional resource to EMS providers, agencies, hospitals, civic and/or medical organizations and local governments within the PEMS service area. He or she will have the opportunity to be involved and significantly impact the regional EMS delivery system, especially as it relates to preparing for, responding to and recovering from mass casualty incidents, mass gathering events, the demands of EMS surge, challenges to medical resiliency, pandemics or emerging highly infectious diseases. Job provides excellent benefits, flex scheduling and some telecommuting. Minimum Education and Experience: Must have at least three years of demonstrated project management experience; at least three years of local government, police/fire/EMS agency, public health, or healthcare emergency management experience; and documented completion of FEMA EMI IS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 courses (or equivalent). Must have a demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and familiarity with project management software and processes. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record. Preferred Requirements: Two years of advanced life support clinical care leadership, emergency or critical care nursing leadership, or emergency management leadership experience. Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in EMS, health science, emergency management, or related field or any combination of work and experience deemed equivalent.
