Isle of Wight County is seeking individuals to perform emergency medical and fire response services on a part-time basis. This position responds to emergency calls, prevents and/or extinguishes fires, performs duties for pre-fire planning, maintains fire apparatus and EMS apparatus as assigned, as well as, other equipment, and completes reports and other administrative work as necessary and requires a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, 2 years of emergency medical and fire response experience preferably at the Advanced Life Support level, certification by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Firefighter II and Haz Mat Operations, EMT-I or EMT-P, EVOC S3 and if EMT-I or EMT-P you must also have ACLS; preferably PALS or PEPP, ITLS/BTLS. If EMT-I or EMT-P you are required to have TEMS ALS certification. Must also have IS 100, IS 200, IS 700 and IS 800. Must have a valid driver's license.
Starting salary $18.49/hr. Applicants will be required to submit to a criminal history check.
